The Twin Cherries.

One morning I was staring at an old tree, wiping the dew drops caused by my hot breathe on the window with my nose, up and down, to and fro....
I saw something that caught my attention on that tree which twigs barely touch the window, it was two cherries next to each other just like twins, light-green ones.
and to be honest it was my first time to see a cherry on a tree, I got excited just as if I had discovered something, actually for a preschool kid it was quite a discovery, I rushed to the kitchen to tell my younger sister, and so we both tried reach to these cherries...poor trials, they weren't that far away, but at least outta our reach, that's when my mom come in a hurry, closed the window -we were living on the 2nd floor- and yelled at us.

We told her about the cherries but she said: "forget it, it's not ripe yet and its not our tree".

day after day these cherries were the 1st thing I check when I open my eyes, noticing the color changing...
from light-green to pink, and few days later to red, for a week I was observing the changes with wide eyes.

One day I came back from school, as usual I approached from the window to see the same sparky dark-red cherries that I saw this morning, but nothing was there....somehow I felt a held in my chest, I didn't say a word just sighed and went to have my lunch, an hour later I was doing my homeworks with my sister, my mom walked in slowly, looking at me as my smile getting wider, the cherries were in her hands, and gently she split the twin cherries, one for me and one for my sister.

And this is something I don't forget!
